Two Month Initial written contract Period
Taking lessons for one month doesn't really give enough time to give your lessons a fair try. We have a two month minimum for starting MONTHLY lessons . It takes some time to learn how to create a nice sound from your vocal instrument and really be able to enjoy it.

Voice Lesson
At the beginning of each session, each student exercises with warm-ups to develop their voice and breathing. Students work with the high and low notes, vocal skills/rhythm, dynamics, tempo, articulation, etc. This method helps to develop the student’s voice in various levels and ages.
In voice, students learn diaphragmatic breathing vocal anatomy and performance training as part of our “total performance” package of proper vocal technique combined with great performance skills. Remember, vocal technique is largely about muscle memory and muscle isolation. We learn to engage certain muscles and relax others at the same time. Our experience is that students, who train vocally in both in both technical, as well as performance styling, are better rounded performers and competitors.
Lesson time may be used exclusively for vocal technique, excleusively for coaching for a specific audition or performance you're preparing for, or any combination of both.
Initial skill assessment for Vocal Students-30 minutes
The first lesson is an introduction lesson where your skills will be assessed and I get to know you.Prior to the start of lessons, the skill level of each student assessed, and jointly we'll create a plan that's right for you. This evaluation session is necessary to make sure we understand your expectations and so that the two of us will assess your vocal strengths/weaknesses and determine jointly whether my training program can help you achieve your singing goals.
We recommend that you be prepared to sing several songs that you believe “showcase” your vocal skills and range without accompanist.
If you're preparing for an upcoming audition, bring music to lesson and we may get right to that and save the vocal technique for another time. It's ultimately up to you to decide how you want to use your time.
Note: We require a 2 month written contract commitment for entry into our vocal training program. We believe it takes this length of time for you and I to develop our musical partnership and where you start to see the benefit of my training.
There is a Difference: Voice Teacher vs. Vocal Coach
Voice teachers generally are or have been, a singer themselves. At a lesson, they will typically lead a student through a series of vocal exercises, and possibly through songs, with a focus on vocal technique rather than interpretation of material.
Vocal Coaches generally are also singers, however, most vocal coaches have a stronger accompanist background than voice teachers. Lots of voice teachers have limited skills as pianists and performers and generally can not provide a focus on repertoire, interpretation, performance preparation, and sometimes, but not always, acting. Coaches will help the singer analyze subtext and decide what to do with their hands, etc. during the performance.
Because of my experience and diverse background(see BIO and Resume section) I believe that I can offer you the unique perspective and experience of a Voice teacher AND a Vocal coach in ONE packet!!
